Annie's Grants for Gardens

Farm to School Grant Awards

USDA Farm to School Grant Program helps organizations, schools and other entities make local food accessible to schools, through farm and school programs.

Schools and school districts can apply for Planning and Implementation grants.  Support Service grants are available for a range of agencies and organizations.

Kid's Gardening website has a large listing of gardening grants, in particular for children gardens.

Muhammad Ali Center Peace Garden Grant

A school or organization that plans to apply for the Muhammad Ali Center Peace Garden Grant, should be teaching gardening to 15+ preschool through twelfth grade students.  The inclusion of nutrition, hunger awareness and activities involving creating a more peaceful world are what determines the winners of the Muhammad Ali Center Peace Garden Grant.

Orchard Donation (Fruit Trees and Plants)

In an effort to eliminate hunger, The Fruit Tree Planting Foundation (FTPF), donates fruit trees and plants to disadvantaged areas, community gardens and public schools.

The two major prerequisites that The FTPF asks of beneficiaries is that they are charities, nonprofit organizations, schools, NGO's or government groups who will use the fruit trees and plants to help others.  Also the fruit tree recipients will need to be able to take care of the trees long term.  To look at the remainder of the

School Garden Grant Program

(Whole Kids Foundation)

Whole Kids Foundation, coupled with FoodCorps, gives out a school garden grant for school garden projects.

Nonprofit organizations that assist with a garden in a school, charter schools, public and private schools are all eligible to apply for the Whole Kids Foundation School Garden Grant.  The schools must be K-12, (or Pre-K- grade school or above).

Seeds of Change encourages people to nominate their favorite garden, organization or community farm for the Share the Good grant.  Nominees can win 1 of 12 grants worth $10, 000.

Sow It Forward Garden Grants Program

Kitchen Gardeners International has a grant and partnership program called Sow it Forward.  Nonprofit programs and organizations that are working on or developing food projects, that are beneficial for their communities, are encouraged to apply.  i.e. Community, schools, seniors, prisons, food banks, library gardens.

2013 Youth Garden Grant Award

Programs, schools, camps, treatment facilities, youth groups, community centers or clubs, (that intend on gardening with a group of 15 or more preschool-18 years of age), are eligible to apply for the 2013 Youth Garden Grant Award.

The 2013 Youth Garden Grant Award is given out by the National Gardening Association, (and sponsored by The Home Depot Garden Club).
